Here are a list of ongoing activities at the Chinese Benevolent Association.

All activities and meetings will be on hiatus for the summer months and resume in September

Monthly Board Meetings

The Chinese Benevolent Association Board of Directors usually meet on the first Sunday of each month at 1:30pm at Golden Place Restaurant, 1645 3rd Avenue. All members are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Lion Dance practice, Sports Day and sports activities (Saturdays 3:30pm – 5:30pm)


Every Saturday between 3:30pm to 5:30pm, there’s a Lion Dance practice with Sports & Activities time at the AimHi Gym (950 Kerry Street) . Members their children are encouraged and welcome to attend. The Lion Dance Team will be performing at the July 1st Canada Day celebration at Fort George Park as well as other events throughout the year.

Lion Dance practice and sports activities will be on hiatus for the summer and resume back in September.

Chinese School (Sundays 10am to 12 noon)


Every Sunday from 10am to 12 noon, there are Chinese language (Potunghua) learning classes held. We have classes for both adults and children. The focus of the classes is to encourage the spoken language with some emphasis on writing and reading. During recess, the children are encouraged to participate in sports and activities while learning the language at the same time. The main focus of the classes is to have fun!
